When I first met Michelle to discuss photographing her June wedding I knew she was going to be such a fun bride to work with. She was so laid-back and had the best smile when she talked about her fiancé, Riley. Shortly after our first meeting, she texted me a picture of the dream dress she decided on and it was STUNNING!
Michelle and her bridesmaids gathered at the Campbell Hotel in Tulsa to get ready for the big day. One of my favorite times of a wedding day is being around the bride with her closest friends. The bond they share, the laughter, the tears of happiness and love all fill the room and the excitement is palpable. Seeing Michelle with her girlfriends made it clear that she is amazing friend and someone who blesses everyone she meets.
Michelle and Riley had planned to not have a first look but changed their minds within the last few weeks prior to their wedding day. I know it is a decision some couples can struggle with but I’m fairly certain these two were so glad they shared that special moment. Their first look had my second shooter as well as myself tearing up. After their first look, they privately shared custom vows with each other and the tears kept coming!
Their ceremony was held at Sharp Chapel on the University of Tulsa campus with their reception in Jenks at Five Oaks Lodge. Sharp Chapel is such a breathtaking place to wed and one of my favorites to photograph. We got some gorgeous portraits around the campus as well as on the grounds at Five Oaks Lodge.
There were so many special moments throughout the day that made me so thankful to be part of such a loving couple’s wedding day. Their first look was amazing and within seconds of being married and walking down the aisle as husband and wife they snuck to a side room and immediately embraced. Their reception was one for the books! Everyone was dancing until the very last song and we saw some pretty awesome dance moves, especially from the groom during the garter toss!
This day was so incredibly magical and I am so honored I got to be part of it! Congrats Michelle and Riley!!
